Have you heard the term “Harm Reduction” but don’t know what it means? We are here to help it make sense! Harm reduction is in all aspects of our lives, such as:
🚗 Wearing a seatbelt in the car to prevent injuries
☀️ Wearing sunscreen in the summer to prevent sunburns
💧 Drinking water to prevent dehydration

Harm reduction is also extremely relevant to substance use! Similarly to the actions listed above, harm reduction practices help save lives and prevent overdose related deaths. This can include:
💜 Utilizing safe injection sites
💜 Getting your drugs tested
💜 Using substances with a buddy instead of alone
💜 Carrying naloxone
💜 And so much more!

At the end of the day, harm reduction is love. Love for yourself, and love for your community❤️

💜Overdoses are the leading cause of death for ages 10-59 in BC.
💜2023 was marked the deadliest year yet with over 2,500 overdose related deaths.
